The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center holds the largest, public circulating performing arts collections in the world. Additionally the NYPL for Performing Arts holds non-circulating materials in dance, theatre, and music.

For 30 years, “The Sphere” stood in the plaza of the World Trade Center until the plight of the unforgettable terrorist attacks. It now stands in Battery Park (near the Staten Island Ferry station) with an eternal flame as a memorial to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Thousands gathered on the West Side Highway overlooking the Hudson River in anticipation of one of the largest firework displays to date. Four barges lined the river, catapulting fireworks into the sky for the US’s birthday.
